The original RAV4- ... By: anarchosolar. on 11 May 12, 21:35:08 The original RAV4-EV got 120miles in 1997 using NiMH. By 2005 the chemistry had improved 50% by now it would be 100% . More modules or larger pack could provide even? more range. If LITHIUM is so much better than NiMH then answer two simple questions ...why does CHEVRON see NiMH not Lithium as the threat to their Oil Mafia ?
Two, why does a 2012 LITHIUM RAV4 only do 100 miles ? The original using NiMH in 1997 did 120miles. That same battery took the? sporty and lighter EV1 160miles in 1997.!!

Gonna be looking for a new car soon and i want it to be electric but Rav4 looks like a car i would take camping, but can't cause its electric... It also looks pricey. making a rav4? electric a complete contradiction. Rav4 for looks like a journey car, not a trip to the mall/grocery/work car, Super fail toyota long time toyata family, sorry Toyota, might be getting a leaf.

Every car should ... By: pummisher. on 27 Jan 12, 10:06:28 Every car should have the option for a hybrid drive train. Was thinking about that for a few years now. I was tempted to buy a Camry Hybrid because it doesn't stick out like the Prius and has better suspension. Finances? led me to get a Matrix instead which is similarly dimensioned as a Prius. One of these days I might just trade up slightly.

By: brian9827. on 04 Dec 11, 20:44:37 i also think the camry would make a good choice, but remember, they already did make a rav4 ev from 1997 to 2003, and they are still on the road, and also, i dont think people think "SUV" when someone says "EV" so it will give america a change to test drive it, and possibly buy an ev suv?

By: AshtonPhoto. on 06 Nov 11, 06:01:18 Even with most electricity being produced with fossil fuels the electric? motor's significant efficiency advantage over the old ICE give it the win. By: maximumvalues. on 02 Oct 11, 15:34:34 do the math. electric cars are useless. you burn NG to produce Electricity in this world or you can burn the damn fuel in? your engine. it costs less to run a CIG engine like the GDI in the new KIA RIO with active ECO and stall out technology. it will give you better than 50MPG average, cost you $18K and no expensive batteries to replace. you are not saving the world buying an electic car as the world is hurt producing electricity. just buy a good gas mizing Kia RIO!

By: maximumvalues. on 02 Oct 11, 15:31:50 wooooppp deee doooo. in our area electricity rates just jumped 25% and Natural Gas prices dropped. most of electricity is made from burning gas or coal. so go figure. i'll stick with the one step of liquid power cars. burn liquids to produce electricity and then plug in your car? or just put the fing liquid in your car? ? hmmmm.... which seems more efficient to you when we have already built he infrastructure. Besides KIA MOTORS has GDI and avg. 50MPG city/hwy on the new RIO ... so whatup
