the problem is not the industry, the problem are the people, pop music is easy in all senses,? is detailess music for detailess brain.
By: ro307805. on 23 Apr 12, 08:23:49
He did not seek commercial success so he should not be suprised? it never happened for him. Not hatin', he stood by his own stuff. Much respect.
By: 0428mar. on 21 Apr 12, 04:09:34
Oh..? if he heard or saw the shit they got going on now.

Neueregel - Please - think about higher learning. Think REALLY hard. Pay attention in life. Don't believe what? you read in The Sun wholesale, or Sky Sports. All the learning of the West took time to come into being - no O levels, 9 pints of lager with your mates - and an education derived exclusively from television- doesn't get it done. Say your Dad was a kleptomaniac. He stole every Zappa record he saw. The Dad dies. A new record is released. We can be pretty sure he'd nick it, too!
By: caesarcerf. on 20 Apr 12, 19:17:18
you've obviously got to - your own and the one you find yourself in, lol. You are pretty ignorant and uneducated - the uh, "historical method," does not require that one be alive. You are trying to prove a negative. One cannot say that Hitler would not love Jews today. One cannot 'prove' that the sun will rise tomorrow.? The only thing one can prove are rational facts 1+1=2, necessarily. whatever part of Britain you're from (not the one I'm from) is "education-free," bud.
By: Neueregel. on 20 Apr 12, 19:12:59
Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone's got one. Only the facts do matter. The sole fact is? that retrospectively Zappa can never give insights on Youtube and the new media, because he is dead in the last 19 years.? Assumptions based on "what if.." are pure anachronism, bundled with ungrounded speculation.
By: caesarcerf. on 20 Apr 12, 18:53:06
Neueregel -? nonsense. people calculate likely opinions for historical personages far more important than Zappa.
By: Neueregel. on 20 Apr 12, 18:48:16
It's pointless to assume? whether Zappa would like Youtube or not. We can never know.
By: miguelbaptista. on 19 Apr 12, 04:59:31
By the way, Zappa was the first musician that? I know of that didnt follow a trend, nor hippie, nor punk, nor progressive, nor country rock, nor disco, nor in favor of drugs, he was actually against alog of things that "rock" and the "freedom generation" advocated in favor. That is why he is so special. He stood in a rare middle ground, a reaction to both blind extremes, the greedy corporation, and the mindless hippies with no care about anything except their personal freedom.
By: miguelbaptista. on 19 Apr 12, 04:57:06
Sorry to burst your bubble, but i dont think zappa would agree on free sharing of copyright. He was allways in favor of musicians earning their share of songs they create, just didnt agree with percentage distribution amongst record companies.? Nowadays he would certainly be independent, but would never give his music free, of this i am certain.
By: MrAlvatroz. on 08 Apr 12, 14:26:49
yeah I miss him too .. it would have been so mutch fun with him alive today? and his wisdom. What an honest artist he was!!!!
By: caesarcerf. on 08 Apr 12, 01:39:51
beeroosterm EXACTLY RIGHT. right on, buddy. merely translate "CD piracy" to "internet, particularly youtube piracy. all his career Zappa lamented NOT being? paid profits he felt owed him by record companies. he would DESPISE youtube which is why his widow so zealously guards his recordings. also - Zappa felt that the old school "conservative businessmen" were better than the "house hippies," who succeeded them. he was in favor of quote, "cigar smoking" men who understood biz. fact!
By: caesarcerf. on 08 Apr 12, 01:35:58
he would HATE the internet for the same reason as it applies to music i am this shit ISN'T free. ? he was a ferocious capitalist; youtube must MUST and will be monitized.
By: twophilrock. on 07 Apr 12, 16:37:07
Wish his son could come to Spain as his father did? and let us feel the magic one more time!!! We miss you Mr. Zappa. More than we thought we would!!! Now you have Mr. Marshall to create the sickest amp!!!!!
By: kermicheo. on 03 Apr 12, 04:31:02
man. this guy is so fucking smart and yet his? music, from first listen, just sounds like the lyrics and music were conceptualized by a 10 year old.
By: bachtozappa. on 02 Apr 12, 21:58:12
Indeed , musicindustry is not about music but about money. Popmusic today is a joke? ... I Miss Zappa ...
By: beeroosterm. on 30 Mar 12, 00:03:24
Thank you for this, it's very interesting. I am uncertain whether Zappa was correct? in his assumptions, however. Certainly, he was prejudiced against the record companies for all their machinations to take the lion's share of profits from original artists; saying they "deserved" being had by the balls by MTV. Radio was not dead at that point - but it was on its way - and not solely because of MTV but because of the coming wave of CD piracy. A one-two knockout punch to musicians everywhere...
By: ywed14. on 29 Mar 12, 16:49:50
I love how he refers to the music as "milli vanillism". It's relevant to today's music even more so than? it was when he originally said this.
By: TheElectricplug. on 20 Mar 12, 03:53:50
But you guys already knew? that
By: TheElectricplug. on 20 Mar 12, 03:53:13
It's capitalism...that's it. Shit music, made by shit ''musicians'' are told to produce fast so that the corporate monsters can get their? cash FAST. Music to their eyes has become a product are not a form of expression, experimentation and a way to surpass yourself artisticly. But thank god there's is an incredible amount of good music and thank god for the inventions of STUDIOS to be able to captured those beautiful sounds. It's important also to not take what is shove down our throats.
By: portwoodjeff. on 18 Mar 12, 12:40:51
i agree entirely. now? that the music industry is dead we will get back to making music.
By: portwoodjeff. on 18 Mar 12, 12:38:54
its all a? conspiracy. the feds got frank. lol
By: shredmaster100. on 16 Mar 12, 21:18:17
i read some mad fan did push zappa off the stage once but he definitly wasnt killed so i dont? know what that other guy was talking about lol
By: TheJake3. on 13 Mar 12, 10:15:43
RIP Zappa would turn in his grave if he knew? what MTV is like today.
