Monster headphones (esp. the beats lineup) are notorious for having cheap build quality and be heavily overpriced. Everyone I know who's owned a pair of Monster brand headphones or iems has had them break down completely within 1 year of use. On the other hand, I don't know anyone who has ever experienced any issues with a Sennheiser product. As far as SQ goes, Monster products are mediocre at best while Sennheiser? is true hi-fi.
