I think it would have its goods and bads, the wings? could be modified ti be folded. But i think the E-2 does a perfect job. Ay maybe they can make it so that they can droo load on the deck and the load could have arrester hooks

The 130 is so amazing. 60 years on, I really feel the Govt should tender a design using it as a baseline: come up with another plane that can offer faster cruise, slower stall, heavier payload, shorter runway roll, more fuel efficient, adaptable to more applications, cutting edge avionics, more durable, etc. It can be done, as all these individual areas have seen tremendous improvement? over the decades. We just don't think as imaginatively and are more risk-averse than the generation past...sigh

A refueling plane is not a direct threat to? any enemy force, it has no weapons and only serves a support role. Why even waste the time attempting to shoot one down when you have heavily armored fighter planes protecting it?

Anyway Hercules is an amazing miltary cargo plane, even if Argentina didn't win the Falklands/Malvinas War, those acomplished so good their mission, but fighters win wars not cargo planes. It is not my intention arguing about that war itself. PD: I am not and argie or barbie or whatever, I am proud of being? PERUVIAN, from the land of the INKAS.
