Wrong! Energy made at a? power plant is a much more efficiant process per Watt than lots of little deisel or petrol engines running around the place. Plus you cant regenerative brake with a petrol car. Your also forgetting there is a lot of plans in the Uk for infastructure for the power grid to be supplied by more wind, solar and wave power.. not to mention nuclear. so no offence but your comment holds little to no validity.

Suburbia, its ok, but if you live in a condo or apartment, prepare for a war with your strata, apt manager and neighbors. You cant use the common outlet in a parking garage unless it have a metered pay charging station? was installed.

Do you have some kind of source that proves your theory? Keep in mind that some of the electicity also comes from nuclear plants,? solar plants and wind power

OPPOSING DIRECTIONAL WHEEL STEERING (ODWS) (PART 7) computation of the ECM (or drawn from a preprogrammed database), but by varying the torque, speed, &? direction of each wheel, zero turns radius can be applied anywhere along the length of the car. Let me know if u want 2 expand on my optical control module idea.
By: tedpenlee. on 24 Apr 12, 14:07:48
OPPOSING DIRECTIONAL WHEEL STEERING (ODWS) (PART 6) Now if u? want 2 move the origin all the way up 2 the front inbound wheel, having the rear of car swing out in a zero turns radius, u can make apply free spinning neutral to the rear wheels, & have the front outbound wheel rotate faster than the inbound wheel. I've given 3 examples of where u can apply zero turns radius. This can be extrapolated to apply anywhere along the length of the car. It would require

OPPOSING DIRECTIONAL WHEEL STEERING (ODWS) (PART 5) whereby the outbound wheel rotate faster than inbound wheel. The front wheels are merely casters (neutral mode) and pivotal point (turning origin) is the inbound drive wheel. For our quad motor ODWS, this zero turns radius can be moved to the center of the car. How you ask?? Have all 4 wheels rotate with equal torque, except have the inbound wheels going in reverse direction.
By: tedpenlee. on 24 Apr 12, 13:50:01
OPPOSING DIRECTIONAL WHEEL STEERING (ODWS) (PART 4) when the driver wish turn the vehicle. Such a phenomenon is already demonstrated 2 a lesser extent by wheel chairs, all terrain vehicles, off-road track vehicles, lawn mowers with zero turns radius. Ackerman geometry steering has its limitations due 2 the restricted movement of the steering knucle. ODWS doesn't.? Lawn mowers zero turns radius is accomplished by the drive wheels n the rear,
By: tedpenlee. on 24 Apr 12, 13:37:05
OPPOSING DIRECTIONAL WHEEL STEERING (ODWS) (PART 3) rack&pinion? gearing. All of the wheels for ODWS are on fixed axis which does not pivot like traditional cars. Instead, it will involve the electronic control module telling the inbound wheels to rotate slower than the outbound wheels, brake, or change direction (but still rotating slower than outbound wheels)
By: tedpenlee. on 24 Apr 12, 13:23:07
OPPOSING DIRECTIONAL WHEEL STEERING (ODWS) (PART 2) This setup I call ODWS. Like the Eliica, there would be no need 4 a tranny or differential since each wheel is independently powered by its own drive motor which offers better air cooling & equal wgt distribution. Unlike? the Eliica, it would not rely on? traditional ackerman geometry steering which involves frail tie rod ends, front end steering wheel alignments, steering knuckle kingpins,
By: tedpenlee. on 24 Apr 12, 13:12:13
OPPOSING DIRECTIONAL WHEEL STEERING (ODWS) (PART 1) Electric motors r smaller & takes up less space than ICE. We should take advantage of that by using hub drive motor behind all 4 wheels. (Japanese has already done something like this with the design of? their Eliica which use 8 wheels and 8 drive motors, which I think is excessive. That why I'm suggesting a quad drive design). It would be further advantageous to break from tradition and use an entirely new steering system setup.
