Lol! Nice jab at Texas "You should see who they hand their governorship to." Last governor they had that was at least semi-smart was... Ann Richards, who served til, like, 1994? at the latest?
By: gustav120. on 25 May 12, 07:28:40
Finland went for equality and a uniform level for schools everywhere. Now they have excellent schools. Sweden went the other way, we implemented vouchers in the 90s. Now our schools suck.? But at least people owning schools have made a lot of money - which was the point of the reform.
By: 50calthe2. on 25 May 12, 06:31:00
the smart ones? have but the majority of americans just keep voting in the same dumpass people hoping for a different results. which is the definition of insanity.
By: TheSheiban. on 25 May 12, 06:13:00
Somehow I doubt it. Finland? doesn't have the same jingoism that the United States has - they will be critical for the foreseeable future...
By: brionnakennedy. on 25 May 12, 05:20:37
I think this? would be to drastic of a change for America to accept...but I'm certainly in favor of large scale change of sort possibly their way but I would need to have all the facts of course . Our current system is shit
By: cheddyrod. on 25 May 12, 04:39:12
Won't work in America. Obama, Emanuel, etc need to be paid off by charter? schools and universities for profit.

Liking the gratuitous dig? at Perry... LoLz
By: mmawilldesha. on 25 May 12, 04:18:38
@burntonion05 I respectfully disagree, in my own personal opinion only the best? should be allowed to teach. I also believe that better education would help the crime problems, because if we keep doing what we've been doing things are only going to get worst going forward.
By: chicarbiomed. on 25 May 12, 03:52:03
Because quality of education for our teachers and crime? in the cities is the reason we're holding public hearings in school districts about what we want our facts in science to be. Since the science teachers clearly understand science and can make their arguments and successfully defend their subject. I suppose maybe it is our choice to be ignorant, and education wouldn't help.
By: chicarbiomed. on 25 May 12, 03:48:11
It is subject specific. And a variable to be considered in an overal study. Simply saying it doesn't make a difference because it doesn't show in subjects like english and history says nothing about math and science. ::? shrug :: I know people like one track simple thinking though since it is easier.
By: burntonion05. on 25 May 12, 03:39:48
It doesn't.?
By: chicarbiomed. on 25 May 12, 03:38:55
^^? if not obvious, that's sarcasm.
By: chicarbiomed. on 25 May 12, 03:36:34
Yeah, having? more education has nothing to do with sharing education with others. Great point.
By: chicarbiomed. on 25 May 12, 03:35:37
F that, what then are cliffnotes for??
By: burntonion05. on 25 May 12, 03:23:43
A masters degree has nothing to do with the quality of a teacher. If finland had to deal with some of the crime? riddled cities like we have in the US, their avg would come down.
By: scorand. on 25 May 12, 03:11:05
and indocturinisation into their world view. you may not like the? comparison but they are very telling reguardless
By: scorand. on 25 May 12, 03:08:54
if Palination idea is the? best schools in the world our world is fucked
By: capucchan8. on 25 May 12, 03:07:48
Cenk you gotta face the facts man, no politician from either party will fix the education system because if people learned critical thinking they would never vote for charlatans like Obama and Willard ?
By: Tom2736. on 25 May 12, 03:07:10
We will never be able to compete in the world of education. Why? Because our schools are run by union thugs and these union thugs protect very bad teachers. In our schools we can never get rid of a bad teacher, we just move them around to another school. Let me take my tax money so that I can send my? children to the schools that will teach them. I should have a choice. But Obama will never go for that, he needs the unions so we are stuck with sending our children to bad school.

By: peoplelikingpeople. on 25 May 12, 02:50:40
facelift gone? wrong?
By: Stingerbillion. on 25 May 12, 02:41:25
There is more to it than population and slums. Finland has banned private schools, makes sure teachers have higher pay? with masters degree, they give freedom to their teachers so they can teach students however they want to, education is left upto the states as oppose to on federal level, Less tests, less school hours, etc.
