Don't bother using a headphone amplifier (in your case the FiiO e5 amplifier), you only need a headphone amplifier for high-end headphones (Sennheiser HD 595, 600, 650, etc.). It will not make a difference if you use them with a headphone amplifier. Just use them with iPhones, iPods or a computer with a good sound card. Hope this helps! The Sony MDR 7506 doesn't have dominant bass nor does? it have warm and intricate mids and highs. The HD 428 wins in all aspects (including comfort). Despite Sennheiser always being better than Sony, Sony headphones deliver excellent bass, which is what the 448 lacks.
