May 20, 2012... Looking for bees in Katsuyama Japan... most people come to see extinct dinasaurs... I am coming to see if I can find any Japanese bees before they go extinct... I might be too late

5/19/12: trying a combo approach to controlling varroa mites to help #SaveOurBees

Varroa mites can only be controlled and I am trying out a new approach to lower them in my hive. The combo approach to controlling varroa mites is misting them gently with a tea tree oil lemon grass oil gum sugar solution and then powder them lightly with powered sugar. I misted a bee with a mite on it and it jumped off... I don't think it likes the tea tree or lemon grass....
